The objective for the attackers is to destroy several M-COM Stations before running out of respawn tickets. While the game mode is new to Battlefield 2042, it has been a staple of many previous entries in the series. Using the Portal editor, the developers managed to create a version of the classic match type that is playable on the various maps found in the game. Since its addition, fan reception has been generally positive. Besides being a lot of fun, the game mode has helped some players meet new friends as well.

In a post on Reddit, a user known as RedHeadGone shared a recent encounter they had while playing Battlefield 2042. During a game of Rush, they realized that it’s never a bad time to meet a new friend, even while on the battlefield. The video started with the gamer redeploying on the Kaleidoscope map. After spawning into the battle, they rounded the corner of a semi and saw a teammate nearby. What happened next was quite unexpected.
While the random teammate remained motionless near the semi, RedHeadGone ran up to the player and proceeded to shoot at the trailer. However, this wasn’t random gunfire, as the player created a smiley face from the dents in the semi. Starting to understand what was going on, the other player responded by making a similar smiley face nearby.
This wholesome encounter between these two players made an impression on the Battlefield 2042 community on Reddit. With nearly 2,000 upvotes in only a couple of days, many were surprised by the interaction. “I think they are trying to communicate,” one person quipped. In addition to commenting about this friendly meeting, other players noted that they had similar experiences in-game.
This is just one of many unusual encounters that have taken place in Battlefield 2042 since its launch.
