RELATED:The Best Married Couples In Gaming, Ranked
This, of course, has led to the creation of many memes on the subject. The following is a collection of some of the most wholesome memes about Zelda and Link’s relationship that can be found on the internet, whether they be heartwarming or funny. This is by no means comprehensive, just a sampling of some of the best that social media has to offer.
7 Couple’s Class
This 4-panel comic was created by Adam Ellis. This is an excellent example of a comedic meme about Zelda and Link’s relationship. Zelda tells Link that she signed them up for a couples class to help their relationship, Link is initially very supportive of this idea until Zelda reveals that the class in question is a pottery class at which point Link has a look of horror on his face.
This joke works on multiple levels. First is the fact that most men do not enjoy pottery classes and would avoid it like the plague if they could. Secondly, Link is known for constantly destroying pots in the Zelda series. Needless to say, Link is not a very good fit for this particular activity.
6 Origin Story Link & Zelda Are Too Pure For This World
This meme was posted to r/zelda by the user CompleteSpinich9. While Link and Zelda have never officially become a couple in-game, it has often been heavily implied that the two have romantic feelings for each other. Nowhere is this more evident than in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which features copious amounts of romantic tension between the two leads.
At several points, the game seemed to intentionally tease fans with the possibility of the two of them getting together, only for something to happen to prevent it at the last minute. This meme more or less sums up fans’ attitude towards the whole situation simply wanting the two of them to just kiss already.
5 Zelda And Link Anime
This meme was created by @theNebulace. This 4-panel comic is presented in a modern-day anime style, and has Link and Zelda low-key flirting with each other. The interaction between the two of them is just adorable in this one.
Each is essentially trying to out compliment the other with both getting embarrassed. It is definitely able to show a great deal of romantic tension between the two.
4 Zelda’s Response
There exist several variations of this meme which first appeared on the Japanese art-sharing site pixiv in 2021. Unfortunately, the original creator is unknown. All of them feature different versions of Princess Zelda responding to something said to them.

This particular version shows how they would each respond to being told “I love you” (presumably by Link). This does a good job showing how Zelda’s personality has varied over the course of different games, ranging from the happy-go-lucky attitude of Skyward Sword Zelda to the stoicism of Twilight Princess Zelda.
3 Why Do You Like Link? Why Do You Like Zelda
This meme was created by Omocat. Often times there are many different things that can attract two people together. What might be seen as an attractive trait by one person could be repulsive to someone else. This meme shows this dynamic at play.
Both Link and Zelda are asked why they like each other. Zelda’s response is a long description of all of Link’s positive qualities, while for Link it is something as simple as the fact that Zelda laughs at all of his jokes. The way that this meme is presented makes it incredibly funny with Zelda seeming happy but childish, and Link appearing to be scared.
2 Link Has His Ways
This meme was posted by u/IlovemyJoJo on the r/zelda subreddit, though it heavily makes use of official artwork for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. This meme highlights the absurdity of Link’s many misadventures. In it, Link and Zelda are sitting and talking together with Link regaling her with the tales of his bizarre adventures in Zora’s domain.

What makes this meme work is the fact that Link seemingly sees nothing unusual with what is being said while Zelda seems thoroughly confused. In her defense, most people would likely be just as confused if one of their friends casually told them that they had married a fish lady.
1 Cosplay But Make It A Meme
This meme was created and performed by MissPixelCosplay and was posted on the r/ZeldaMemes Subreddit. This one pokes fun at how, in Zelda games, Link never seems to be in much of a hurry to go rescue Zelda.
He will often spend hours or even days doing menial side quests, and exploring every last corner of the map for minor collectibles instead of actually doing what he is supposed to do. Here, it shows Zelda trapped in a cage looking rather irate because Link still hasn’t come to rescue her.
