“I will probably die trying to pet someone shouldn’t. Just a random camel in the streets of Hammamet,” she wrote. “And of course I HAVE to pet it! Forget the obvious danger. Lol @tlc_90day_zied is trying to tell me. Hurt you baby! Hurt you!” The post garnered hundreds of views from her 20,000 followers within minutes of being posted.
The day before, Rebecca posted a side-by-side photo of herself and Zied at similar ages. At 47, Rebecca is more than 20 years older than 26-year-old Zied.
Rebecca received blowback by some fans after she didn’t dress conservatively during a night out, like Zied had suggested. She told him she would wear a jacket while they were out, so it shouldn’t matter. He told her she looked “too sexy.” Once they were at their destination, Rebecca removed her jacket, exposing her arms and tattoos, which embarrassed Zied.
After the episode aired, Rebecca tried to explain herself. “I should have respected what Zied told me,” she added in the video. “There’s a lot that you don’t see that went into that scene, but let me explain a little bit so I don’t get quite as much hate for this… It was a bad reaction on my part and I should not have argued the way that I did.”
Rebecca reiterated that what she did was wrong, but got defensive when Zied was critical of what she wore because of her relationship with her ex, who she describes as very jealous and controlling.
“To clarify a little…. please understand that I know I was wrong for what I did,” she wrote last week. “Zied never told me what to wear in all the time we were together before this. And my ex was very controlling. So I reacted very badly. I respect him and his culture and I made a bad decision. Keep watching.”
Rebecca has dated someone much younger before, telling People magazine on August 2 her ex from Morocco was younger than Zied. “I kind of knew that I was probably making a mistake doing this, but I still tried really hard. When I brought him over here, he instantly just became a different person. He was a very bad person,” she said.
